Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of parental educational level at student’s learning achievement. The problems studied in this study are: (1) What is the description of the educational level of the students' parents at eleventh grade of SMA Methodist Berastagi academic year 2020/2021? (2) How is the description of student’s learning achievement at eleventh grade of SMA Methodist Berastagi academic year 2020/2021? (3) Is there any influence between parents' education level on student achievement at eleventh grade of SMA Methodist Berastagi academic year 2020/2021? This type of research is quantitative. The data analysis method used in this research is descriptive analysis, and by using an independent test formula between two factors. the population of all eleventh graders is 152 people. And for the sample is 25 students. Data collection of parental educational level was obtained from online interviews with students by zoom and learning outcomes were obtained through photo documentation through teachers. The results obtained for parental educational level data and student’s learning achievement data through an independent test between two factors obtained the value of x^2 count = 7.611111 is bigger than x^2 table= 3.84 so that H_0 is rejected and H_1 is accepted. It means that there is a significant influence between the parental educational level to the student’s learning achievement. Keywords: Parental Educational Level, Student’s Learning Achievement
