COMPARISON OF GROWTH AND YIELD OF WATER SPINACH (Ipomoea reptans Poir) HYDROPONIC SYSTEM TOWARDS AB MIX NUTRITION AND LIQUID ORGANIC FERTILIZER (POC) NUTRITION

Abstract

This study aims to compare the effects of two types of nutrients AB Mix and Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) on the growth and yield of water spinach (Ipomoea reptans Poir.) using the wick hydroponic system. The observed parameters included plant height, leaf length, number of leaves, root length, and fresh weight.Statistical analysis using Independent Samples T-Test and Mann-Whitney Test showed significant differences in all parameters between the AB Mix and POC treatments. Therefore, AB Mix is more effective in promoting the growth and yield of water spinach in hydroponic systems compared to Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC).The results of the study were tested using the Independent Samples T-Test and if the data was not normally distributed, the Mann-whitney test was continued to obtain results from each parameter tested that AB Mix nutrients provided better growth and results compared to Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC).
