FACTORS THAT AFFECT THE PRODUCTIVITY OF RED CHILI CURLY (Capsicum Annum L) BUKIT VILLAGE, DOLAT RAYAT DISTRICT, KARO REGENCY

Abstract

                This study aims to determine the factors that affect the productivity of curly red chili in Bukit Village, Dolat Rayat District, Karo Regency. The sample of this study used the slovin method with a total of 40 respondents of peacock curly chili farmers in Bukit Village, Dolat Rayat District, Karo Regency. The data collection technique is quantitative where quantitative data includes data for variables such as chili production, agricultural land area, seed use, amount of fertilizer and planting distance on curly red chili farming land in Bukit Village, Dolat Rayat District, Karo Regency. Data analysis methods consist of multiple linear analysis, normality test, heteroscedasticity test, multicollinearity test, t-test, f-test and determination coefficient analysis test (R2). The results of the study indicate that 1) Seed, fertilizer, pesticide, labor and planting distance factors partially have a significant influence on the productivity of curly red chili in Bukit Village, Dolat Rayat District, Karo Regency where the calculated t value of seeds is 2.007> 1.685, the calculated t value of fertilizer is 10.612> 1.685, the calculated t value of pesticide is 10.686> 1.685, the calculated t value of labor is 2.963> 1.685 and the calculated t value of planting distance is 2.007> 1.685, 2) Seed, fertilizer, pesticide, labor and planting distance factors together have a significant positive influence on the productivity of curly red chili in Bukit Village, Dolat Rayat District, Karo Regency where the test results of the Fcount test are 347.740> Ftable 2.38 and the level of significance is 0.000 <0.05 and the results of the determination coefficient test indicate that the contribution of the independent variables, namely seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, labor and planting distance affect the dependent variable, namely red chili productivity by 97.7%. The remaining 2.3% is influenced by other variables not included in this study
