PEMANFAATAN SISA PAKAN SAPI MENJADI KOMPOS PELET DENGAN PENAMBAHAN BAHAN AKTIF BETA

Abstract

Leftover cow feed is one of the organic materials that are rich in nutrients. The rest of the cow feed comes from the consumption behavior of cattle, which is an average of 15% of body weight so that the rest of  feed has the potential as an ingredient for compost. In this study, compost was made in the form of pellets which aims to facilitate the time of application  and to keep the macro and micro elements contained in compost maintained and decomposed when the plants need it. Beta is a bioactivator used in the composting process where the components are used as a bioactivator, it contains various nutrients needed by plants. From the analysis results obtained macro content in the form of  Nitrogen (N) levels of 0.86%, Phosphorus (P) 1.17%, Potassium (K) 1.03%, C-Organic 20.74%, and C/N ratio 24 ,12. All of these contents are in accordance with the requirements stipulated in SNI 19-7070-2004 except for the value of C/N Ratio which is still higher than the maximum standard number of 20. It takes longer fermentation time to reduce the C/N Ratio.
