Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the description of students' learning difficulties and the factors that cause student learning difficulties in the material changes like objects in science class V SD Negeri 163080 Tebing Tinggi. The population in this study were all fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 163080
Tebing Tinggi. The instruments in this study were tests and interviews. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative. Based on the analysis of the research data, it was found that the description of the students' difficulties from the 9 test items given was no 6 with high difficulty criteria, test item no 7
with high difficulty criteria, and item no 8 with high difficulty criteria. Factors that cause student learning difficulties are through the teacher's explanation, students do not understand the material for changes in reversible objects, do not understand the material for changes in non-reversible objects, and are unable to give examples of changes in reversible objects
