Abstract

This research problem is motivated by the results of student learning science which is not a maximum of ≥85%. This study aims to describe the improvement of the implementation of learning and the improvement of student learning outcomes using the Word Square Model. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 043934 Kabanjahe. The subjects of this study were 24 grade V students. While the object of research was the Word Square Model to improve student learning outcomes in science subjects Animal Respiratory Organ Material Class V SD Negeri 043934 Kabanjahe Academic Year 2020/2021. Data collection tools in the form of observation sheets and multiple choice tests. The data analysis used was the learning implementation formula, individual learning outcomes, classical completeness, and the average student learning outcomes. Based on data analysis, the implementation of learning with the Word Square Model on Animal Respiratory Organs in Class V went well. In the first cycle obtained an average value of 70 and the level of completeness of students classically 58% of 24 students, there were 14 students who scored≥ 70 or complete learning and 10 students who did not complete. After the improvement of learning in cycle II, the students' average score increased to 77 from 24, there were 21 students who scored ≥70 or completed learning and 3 students who did not complete the study. Based on the findings and research results, it can be concluded that the use of the Word Square Model can improve the implementation of learning and learning outcomes of Animal Respiratory Organs in Class V SD Negeri 043934 Kabanjahe Academic Year 2020/2021.
