Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of training using a playing model on improving upper passing and lower passing skills in volleyball games among volleyball extracurricular participants at SMP Negeri 1 Kabanjahe. This research uses a quantitative approach, specifically using quasi-experimental techniques with One Group Pretest and Posttest Design. Participants in this research were class VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Kabanjahe who took part in volleyball extracurricular activities. A total of 25 participants were selected using a method called total sampling. This research uses the Brumbach Forearms Pass Wall Volley Test instrument to assess the accuracy of upper and lower passes. This instrument has a validity coefficient of 0.80 and a reliability of 0.896. In addition, the Kautz Volleyball Test was also used, which has a validity coefficient of 0.82 and a reliability of 0.90. The data analysis approach used was the t-test, with a significance threshold set at 5%. The results of the research show that there is an influence of playing style on the basic technical skills of over-passing and under-passing in extracurricular activities at SMP Negeri 1 Kabanjahe. (2) There is no statistically significant difference between upper passing and lower passing as indicated by the Sig value.
