TINGKAT KETERAMPILAN TEKNIK DASAR BERMAIN BOLA VOLI SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 1 KABANJAHE KABUPATEN KARO

Abstract

The aim of this research is to assess the level of proficiency in basic volleyball techniques among students at SMP Negeri 1 Kabanjahe, Karo Regency in 2023. This research uses a quantitative descriptive methodology with survey techniques. The research population consisted of 19 male students and 10 female students who were enrolled in class VII and participated in volleyball extracurricular activities. The research sample was collected using the Total Sampling method. The data collection method uses fundamental volleyball performance assessments. Research findings show that students involved in extracurricular activities have inadequate abilities in basic technical skills such as top serves, bottom serves, smashes, and blocks in the context of volleyball games. Although most students demonstrate proficiency in both low-passing and high-passing approaches, a small percentage still struggle to perform both effectively. Research findings show that class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Kabanjahe, Karo Regency have limitations in the basic technical skills needed to play volleyball. Therefore, further efforts are needed to improve their abilities in this sport.
